Events
The Berkeley Bayit hosts a variety of Events for the Jewish community at UC Berkeley in which all house members participate. Each year the event change as the needs of the Berkeley community change and the interests of the members change.
Typically in a semester:
- We hosted a Bayit Shabbat once a semester, more recently we have hosted onegs after Berkeley Hillel's Shabbat services and dinner.
- We host an Open Event to the entire UC Berkeley Jewish community about once a semester.
- We host a Closed Event for 30-50 students
- We have a
Workday to fix, clean,
and improve the Bayit
SHABBAT AT THE BAYIT
- Tu B'Shvat Shabbat
Friday, February 3rd 7pm
Shabbat services will explore nature themes as we approach Tu B'shvat
- the new year for the trees. Then sample fruits and a wonderful Shabbat
Dinner.
SHABBAT AT THE BAYIT - COMMUNIST SABBATH
Friday, November 5th 7pm
Comrads! Join the Bayit worker's paradise for the people's Shabbat. You
have nothing to lose but the chains of your week.
SHABBAT AT THE BAYIT - BLACK SABBATH
Friday, February 11 7pm
Cal's local Jewish co-op invites you to come celebrate "Black Sabbath"
with us! We'll be having services and a free, kosher meal at our home.
We'll meet at 6:45 at Hillel and walk together, or come directly to the
Bayit.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 14 CHESHVAN 
6:45pm Meet at Hillel at 6:45 to walk over to the Bayit for Shabbat services.
Enjoy an intimate service and a free vegetarian dinner.
Pirate Shabbat
Open Shabbat 20 February 2004 Services 7 PM, Dinner 8 PM
"Yoho Yoho a Bayit life's for me"… Come to Pirate Shabbat at
the Berkeley Bayit – the only Jewish co-op in Berkeley - and join 12 crazy
Jewish pirates for a night of Shabbat fun! Meet at Hillel to walk up to
the Bayit at 6:45pm. Services will start at 7pm and dinner at 8pm. Ask
Tami where she picked up the wooden leg and eye patch.
The Bayit presents "Purim". It's a party!
The Bayit presents "A Nightmare
on Hillside Court: Starring Freddy Kugel - 'I know what you did last Shabbas."
Wear your ghostliest ghastliest garb. We'll scare the 'shadim' out of
you. Join us for a wicked meal after services.
Join us for Shabbat with Egalitarian services (a conservaform mix) and
a dairy dinner in the Bayit.
Meet at Hillel at 6.30.
HAVEALLAH
AND DESSERT IN THE SUKKAH! - on Saturday, September 25

Join us for the end of Shabbat with Havdallah services and yummie desserts
in the Bayit Sukkah.

Join us for yummie desserts, song, and schmoozing at the Bayit after dinner
at Hillel.
